Nina L. Spurlock, 90, died at 4:10 p.m. Thursday at
Hickory Creek of Rochester.
Born in Fulton County to Ellis and Jennie Heeter Riley,
she married Ira Morris Spurlock June 28, 1930 in Athens.
He died July 11, 1982.
Mrs. Spurlock was a homemaker and worked at Wiles
Department Store, Rochester. A member of Athens United
Methodist Church, she was an accomplished baker. She
lived most of her life in Fulton County.
Survivors include three daughters, Regina Roberts,
Rochester, Carol Ann Vandermark and husband Lyle,
Rochester, Sue Kay Gross and husband LeVaughn, Peru; six
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three
great-great-grandchildren; one stepson, Samuel Harmon and
wife Betty, Niles, Mich.; two sisters, Katherine
Overmyer, Rochester, Helen Bright, Fort Wayne; one
brother, Raymond Riley and wife Jenny, Kokomo.
Preceding in death with her husband were her parents and
three brothers, Monroe, Calvin and Ted Riley.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Foster & Good
Funeral Home, Rochester, with Revs. Aaron Gross and Doris
Smith officiating. Burial is at Athens Cemetery. Friends
may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one
hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to Athens
United Methodist Church.
