T. Rex Reahard
FORT WAYNE - T. Rex Reahard, 81, rural North Manchester, died at
5:46 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2000, at Lutheran Hospital.
He was born on Dec. 21, 1918, in Akron to Russell E. and Edna M.
(Ward) Reahard. He married Carolyn Seitner on March 10, 1945.
She survives.
He was the former owner of the John Deere Implement Store, North
Manchester, from 1936 to 1957. He also taught physics and math
at Northfield High School, retiring in 1980. He graduated from
Central High School in 1936, and received his bachelor of arts
degree from Manchester College in 1944, and his master of arts
degree from Indiana University.
He was a member of the North Manchester Kiwanis Club, and served
as president in 1974 and 1975. He also was a member of the
Indiana Retired Teachers Association, the North Manchester
Historical Society, Deming Lodge No. 88, F.&A.M., the Eel River
Shrine Club, and the North Manchester United Methodist Church.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
A son, Paul Reahard, died in 1998. A brother and a sister are
deceased.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the North Manchester
United Methodist Church. Dr. William Hemmig will officiate.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel.
Preferred memorials are to the North Manchester United Methodist
Church, the American Lung Association or the American Heart
Association.
