Zelda M. Kempton
Zelda M. Kempton, age 81, of Ohio 95, Fredericktown, Ohio passed away on Friday Feb. 13, 2009 at Autumn Health Care in Mount Vernon.
She was born on Sept. 2, 1927 in Johnsville to the late Charles and Grace (Zolman) Singrey.
Zelda was proud to have worked 42 years for Ebersole Meat Processing in Chesterville.
If she wasn’t at work, Zelda spent time helping her beloved husband take care of the family farm,
which they maintained together for 63 years.
Zelda attended the Gilead Mennonite Church and enjoyed sewing with the women of the church.
She is survived by her husband Russell "Bus" Kempton;
three daughters, Shirley (Phillip) Lower of Mount Vernon,
Linda Goare of Chesterville,
Phyllis (Buddy) Salyer of Marengo;
seven grandchildren: Joe, Rachel, Courtney, Kelly, Kerry, Katy and Jessica;
three sisters, Doris Rinehart of Fredericktown,
Esther (Bob) Phillips of Fredericktown,
Ruth (Herb) Vroman of Westerville, sister-in-law, JoAnn VanHoose of Flat Gap, Ky.
and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dave Singrey and Tom Singrey;
two sisters, Anna Mae Singrey and Pauline Singrey and a son-in-law, Ron Goare.
Friends called at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown.
A graveside service was held Tuesday in Maple Grove Cemetery in Chesterville.
