Obituary

Mrs. Almina Sheldon, daughter of Benjamin F. & Lydia Johnson, was born near Churubusco, in Allen County, Indiana, August 16, 1855. Departed this life at her late home in Smith township Whitley County, January 24, 1930, at the advanced age of 74 years 5 months and 8 days.
On July 3rd 1883 she was united in marriage to Cyrus Sheldon. To this union six children were give., four sons and two daughters. Two of the sons and one daughter have preceeded their mother in death. The remaining two sons and daughter are: Mrs. Ada McBride of near Ari, Montford Sheldon of Whitley County, and Frank at home.
Sister Sheldon was converted under the ministry of Rev. A. F. McCloe and became a member of the Churubusco United Brethren church, in 1891. She was constant in the faith, happy in Christian fellowship, and faithful until the end.
The failure of health during the last few years prevented her attendance upon public worship; but she was always glad to have the pastor of the church come into her home and have prayer with the family. The most of the time during the past years was spent in bed. Her spirit was buoyant and hopeful but withal resigned to the will of God.
Mrs. Sheldon was the last of her family, consequently the number of near relatives who mourn her going is limited to the husband, the one daughter and two sons above mentioned, and twelve grandchildren. The deceased was well and favorably known having spent the entire period of her years in the vicinity of Churubusco.
